Welcome to Greenwich Yacht Club Members portal.

This site is for members only and compliments the main public facing website.

General information about how the club works is on the main site - but the 'interactive' content (such as events calenders, yard bookings) can be found here.  Please login here as you used to do - it is the same site just with a bit of a tidy up.

This is still 'work in progress' and work on updating our IT / Web systems is ongoing - please remember this is all done by volunteers so it might take a bit of time!

Log in to do everything you used to do on the old site, such as:

- Read Trident online

- Book Yard spaces

- Book an Event

Our training program has resumed with appropriate mitigations.

We urge members to remember that Covid is still with us and we must all look out for our own and others safety by maintaining social distancing and following government rulings.

SAIL TRAINING 2021

Keel Boat and Dinghy Courses.

We are now using keelboats to cover RYA Dinghy L/1 courses. The first course on 20th/21st May was cancelled due to gale force winds! That's the first lesson for all sailors- keep an eye on weather forecasts and don't take risks!

The following course was on 26th/27th June when we ran RYA Dinghy L/1 using two keelboats and 2 Laser Stratos. It was a great success and 13 participants gained RYA Dingh L/1.

The following course was on August 14th/15th for Dinghy L/2. Six participants passed with flying colours and can now be seen sailing dinghies regularly.

Safety Boat Training

A Safety Boat Course ran on four Tuesday evenings - 1730-2030, July 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th.  N.B all 4 evenings required for this course. Six participants passed and are keen to help the dinghy captain with the racing and cruising fleets

11th September was is a keelboat 'taster' day. Four places am and four pm, with a very talented instructor, Penny Gillett. It was a great day with fair winds, no rain and a stable Beneteau keelboat.

Next RYA Dinghy Level 1 will be held on 30th/31st October. The course is full at the moment but keep an eye out for drop-outs! The dinghies will be our 2  Laser Stratos and one Bosun. The instructors are Joel Williams, Simon Powell and Toby Lomax with Steve Wilson overseeing and driving a safetyboat.

We need a safety boat driver on Saturday 30th October to help Steve, and two safety boat drivers on 31st October.

Power Boat Courses - Level 2

Thames Active are running these courses from GYC, as per contract. These are available for members with a GYC discount. BUT Contact me for a codeword to book. Please note- although the courses looked full for months, there are some drop outs now.

Marine VHF Course

The next VHF course will be held on November 17th. Two Places available.

RYA First Aid

The last course was held on 10th October- 10 places. It was brilliant! The instructor Ross was fun, informative and enjoyed  answering all our numerous questions. Hopefully we can sign him up for the next couse which is unscheduled at the moment.

Day Skipper Theory Course.

tRYA Day Skipper course is in full swing. It started  on Tuesday September 14th and runs every Tuesday util November 2nd. Plus the weekend of November 6th/7th.  The Coastal Skipper Yachtmaster courseis running simultaneously.

There will be another Day Skipper course in February- Watch this space!

Children's Summer Holiday Dinghy Course run by AHOY was a great success.
